Hurricane Matthew Heading For Haiti

Hurricane Matthew, a category 4 hurricane, is heading for Haiti. It's expected to dump torrential rainfall on Haiti tonight before making landfall Monday. Matthew is one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in recent history and briefly reached the top classification, Category 5, becoming the strongest hurricane here since Felix in 2007.

We just received an update from our local partner, Jody Castillo, Director of Northwest Haiti Christian Mission: "Current predictions show the eye of the storm going over the Mole. Today at church none of the Haitians knew anything about it. So we have everyone walking around town and several trying to contact the fishing villages to let them know.

We are also preparing the campus the best we can. Biggest problem is every building here on campus has a tin roof. We are praying they don't blow away. The rain isn't here but it's very windy already. We are stocking up on diesel, food, and water bags in case roads are washed out.I have seen miracles that only God could do.

Please pray for God to calm the storm and make His presence known! #haiti#jesuscalmthestorm"
