Give for Good Louisville 2021

Give for Good Louisville 2021

We're just days away from our largest fundraiser of the year - Give for Good Louisville!

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise an amazing $15,347.60 in a single day last year. This year, we hope to raise even more!

This is a 100% virtual event. Here's how you can help:

We need a minimum of 90 people to donate $10 or more on Friday, Sept. 17. If we reach 90 donors, we'll get a share of a $120,000 bonus pool!

There's also an additional $40,000 in match money available for Southern Indiana-based non-profits, like us.

You do not have to live in the Louisville-area to participate in this special giving day.

Please consider donating on this special day, and spreading the word to your family and friends. It only takes a few minutes.

The money raised will go toward our new teenage sewing program, program supplies, and student sponsorships.

All donations must be submitted online through the special link below on Friday, Sept. 17.

July was a month like no other

President Jovenel Moïse Assassinated

By now you may have heard that the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, was assassinated at his home on July 7. A group of Columbian mercenaries have been arrested, but the investigation continues into who is behind the attack.

On Friday, July 30, the President's widow, Martine Moïse, spoke to the New York Times about the attack that killed her husband. She said she survived, because the assassins thought they killed her. Here's a link to an article where she recounts the attack.

Impact on Haiti and the Sewing Programs

There is a lot of uncertainty in Haiti right now. Even more than usual. Prices for fuel, food, and other household items continue to soar. Haitians are struggling.

There is still a lot of violence in and around Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti. Thankfully, there isn't much violence where our programs are located, and the students have continued to attend class as usual.

Please continue to pray for Haiti. Things may seem uncertain, but we continue to trust in the Lord who knows everything.

Graduation is just around the corner

The classes are planning their graduation ceremonies!

Each class will make their own graduation clothes, including their graduation gowns and the dress clothes they'll wear under the gowns.

  • Port-de-Paix graduation clothing - $415 (already paid)

  • Port-de-Paix graduation ceremony and reception - $2,150 (Current total needed = $550)
